CryptoPH Weekly News Roundup: April 29 – May 5, 2024
Solana Ecosystem call meetup organized, TON now available in PDAX, and more.
A couple of days ago, while our team was busy covering the YGG event in Baguio, a horde of angry Binance fans descended to the BitPinas Facebook page, condemning our recent news entitled: Binance Assures Users: Limited Access is Only Temporary.
This is probably the most positive news about Binance out of a local news website in terms of the embattled exchange’s situation in the Philippines.
And keep in mind that we don’t choose the news that come our way. Whether that news is positive or negative to any particular company or organization is not our problem. For us, news is news.
Anyway, the negative backlash was so bad (here and here), I could not understand why they are attacking our Facebook page, when that particular news was actually a positive for Binance, a positive for them (the supporters).
This led me to compost and publish a rare tweet, highlighting how we covered the Binance situation in the last three years.
The takeaway I want people to get:
If you (referring to the haters) want to effect change, I suggest you go file a case, email the SEC, go to their office, call your congressman, email Apple at Google. Nothing will happen if you just comment on any random page. And shooting the messenger will never do anything but bark at the wrong tree.
The outpour of support was overwhelming, so to say. And sometimes it’s all we need to continue doing what we’re doing.
